Vehicle Crime Operation

We’re pleased to report a number of arrests of people during a vehicle crime operation on Friday 10th January 2025.

PC Johnny Howells from the Coleshill Safer Neighbourhood team organised Op Travaco. He had the following to say:

“We initially ran the Op Travaco in the north of the county following a spate of vehicle crime. However, it was clear criminals were travelling into the area from across Warwickshire and beyond, so we decided to run it across the whole county. 

We had almost 50 officers from our safer neighbourhood, rural crime and roads policing teams. We were joined by our specials who volunteered their own time to take part in the operation. All these officers were tasked with proactively policing the roads and targeting people they suspected of being involved in criminal behaviour. 

The operation proved successful with eight people arrested for offences including failing to stop, drink driving and drug offences.

We also seized a stolen vehicle and another four vehicles without insurance. As well as these results, perhaps the main success of the night is that we secured a lot of intelligence that will help us tackle more crime in the county in future"
